The objective of this work is to study and model the process of homogenization of impurities in a cavity filled with liquid metal under electromagnetic stirring conditions and to find optimal conditions for manufacturing high-quality alloys. We have investigated the flow of a conducting fluid in a rectangular cavity under the action of a traveling magnetic field and the transport of passive impurities in this flow.
The effect of three-phase current, flowing through an inductor for magnetic field generation, on the flow rate and passive impurity distribution has been analyzed.
